It is not a coincidence that you are reading this site.
You may not comprehend much of what you read on this site since it is geared towards those who are believers and disciples of Jesus Christ. The ability to understand and comprehend the message and content of this site is provided by the Holy Spirit of God. Without the Holy Spirit, you cannot claim Jesus as your Lord and Saviour nor can you understand the things of the Kingdom of God which Jesus preached about. These are reserved for the Children of God ONLY. Here's the question?
Are you a child of God but do not realize it yet? Do you sometimes sense a spiritual quickening within your heart and mind about things of God? Then you my friend, may be called by God at this time to realize you are one of His kids.
To follow up with this feeling of wanting to know more about God, two things need to occur:
1. You must believe in your heart that Jesus is the Christ, Messiah, the Saviour (If your mind and heart believe this to be true, then this is your faith in action and you are now baptized in the name of Jesus). The Christ is the one who shed His blood and died for your sins and then rose from the dead and is alive and allows you to become a NEW creation of God. Giving you a new start, a new life, a new understanding.
2. Follow your faith in Jesus with a physical acknowledgment - meaning - you should confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Christ who died for your sins and receive His Holy Spirit into your heart and mind to comfort, teach and guide you and make you a NEW creation (born again) and child of God. This is being baptized in the Holy Spirit.
To help you, here's a prayer you can follow; believing in your heart and praying with your mouth:
Dear Jesus, thank you for shedding your blood as a sacrifice for my sins. I confess that I am a sinner without you and that you are the Christ, the son of the living God. I believe you are alive and that you are my saviour and my King. I receive your Holy Spirit into my heart and mind to make me a new creation. I thank you for your Holy Spirit who will reveal to me more about you and the plans you have for my life within your Kingdom. Thank you for accepting me as your child. In Jesus name I pray this prayer. Amen.
You have just taken your first step in faith. What's next???
Get a Bible! Go to a Christian bookstore and tell them you prayed the above prayer. They will help you select a bible that best suits you. Practice praying daily and reading scriptures daily. Pray for God to bring other believers into your life for fellowship - This is very important. God will speak to you in your heart and mind. You are now embarking on an eternal journey that will be full of peace, joy and happiness in the Spirit. Write to me below and I will guide you until you can stand on your own. God has already blessed you and will continue to bless you!
What about water baptism? That is something you can do at anytime with another believer. It is a proclamation to the world that you are a disciple of Jesus Christ. This was the main form in the early Christian church of displaying one's Christian faith instead of the prayer you just said above. You see, what you do is not as important as what you believe!
My prayer is that God would use this site to spark an interest in your heart, mind and soul to seek Him more, ask Him more, and knock at His door more.
Your search for the truth should be directed to the Lord - so then the Holy Spirit can renew your mind in Christ.
