Are there similarities between the first Adam and the Last Adam?
Who is the last Adam?
We begin by asking the question: Why did the first Adam eat the fruit?
The popular belief is that Adam never stood up to his wife Eve and take control as Head of his household - so Adam didn't understand his role as husband - therefor Eve transgressed and the rest as we know it is history...That's the most popular belief of that situation in the garden between Adam and Eve. This is probably what your church has taught you.
First, we should understand the image of oneness by marriage between man and woman...
Let's begin with the first married couple: Adam and Eve. It's important to understand the concept of God creating man male and female "As one flesh." Creating Eve was not an after-thought. God made it a point to create man male AND female. God named him Adam which is Hebrew for "mankind." He formed MAN first from the ground of the earth and He made WOMAN from MAN which together they are a shadow of the oneness of God
since God the Father is one God yet His Son and His Holy Spirit come out from Him. The WOMAN comes out from MAN to shadow God's oneness, then the MAN enters into the WOMAN to complete the oneness of God, just as Jesus returned back to the Father.
God says in Gen 1:26
Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
Continuing in verse 27 the scripture says:
"So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them"
Understanding that God made man which in hebrew is Adam' which means mankind. He created mankind with 2 parts: the male part and the female part. But both parts reflect the image of God as one.
The Apostle Paul points out in Eph 5:31 "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh."
Jesus also reiterated that in Matt 19:6 and Mark 10:8
But the thinking of ONE flesh was generated in Gen 2:23
And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
and the next verse says...
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
To me, this is the image of God. That God is one
Mar 12:29
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Jesus also said in
Jhn 17:22
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: (Jesus praying to the Father)
So we understand that male and female was created for the purpose of being one as a shadow or image of God's oneness with His son and the Holy Spirit as it says in
1Jo 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Which brings us back to the initial question...
Why did Adam eat the fruit?
For some of you listening, lightbulbs are going off in your head and you may be saying, "He ate the fruit because he was one with his wife!" And technically that is true and the foundation for the rest of the answer which is also...
1Cr 15:45 says...
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit.
Who is the last Adam? It's Jesus as described in
1Cr 15:47
The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven.
1Cr 15:22
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Now the scriptures point out that Eve was deceived NOT Adam
1Ti 2:14
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
So here is the serpent tempting Eve.... Mind you, he is only talking to Eve - not Adam. Now Eve is being deceived. She calculates in her mind all the positive possiblities of eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The pride of life, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh. It’s all kicking in now and Adam is not deceived. So why did he eat?
Obviously there was one thing Adam knew for sure when Eve ate the fruit: he knew she was going to die. And being one with her - and bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh - he gave himself up for her. He gave himself up for her.
In Isa 53:7 The prophecy concerning Jesus,
[the LAST Adam] He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Adam being the first man created in the image of God also did not open his mouth but sacrificed himself for who he was one with: his bride, his wife Eve.
That's why the Aposlte Paul tells us in
Eph 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Amen. Now you know why Adam ate the fruit and the rest is History.
Is your Christian walk stronger at church than when you're not at church? Do you desire to change that cycle? I can help!
The focus of my ministry is to the Saints and believers of Jesus Christ.
Here's how I can help you: - Recognize what is the true Gospel taught by Jesus - Recognize and understand the Kingdom of God while on this earth - Knowing how to live a truly victorious life in Christ away from church - How to love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength - Cut through all the double talk in Christianity today - Recognize "Mainstream" Christian thinking today that is not scriptural that keeps you from being victorious away from church
The first thing that needs to be established is our agreement (You and I) that we both believe that the Bible (certain versions) are inspired writings by godly men and are properly translated into the english language. Failure for us to agree on this basic premise means that we will not agree on some or all subject matters here. Which tells me that you are here reading this site for another purpose that God has for you. I can still assist you in that area also. The rest of you who agree on the terms of the authenticity of the bible know what I am talking about and we shall endeavor to seek God for revelation and knowledge of His Word.
I use the King James version (old or new) and the NASB (New American Standard).
Now that we've settled on the Bible being the "Holy Scriptures" - You will notice light bulbs going off in your mind when you read some of the teachings here. These light bulbs indicate truths that you have wondered about but were never sure about because your local Pastor or teacher on radio or TV never taught it to you. These light bulbs - or more exact... revelations - are where you are going to learn some great truths beyond what Mainstream Christianity teaches today. And there is a great lesson to be learned as to why Mainstream Christianity does not teach you these truths. It will be revealed to you in God's timeframe.
Gal 3:24-25 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you. Some of you will naturally resist the teachings of this site due to the traditional teachings you have received since the day of your salvation. I will only say that your "flesh" is hanging on to whatever idea of control you want to maintain. Remember, you are but a vapor! You think vapor can control anything?
This site is not intended for argument. For most of you, I have been where your beliefs are and I cannot go back. I praise God for touching you to read this site. God's plans cannot be thwarted!
Your search for the truth should be directed to the Lord - so then the Holy Spirit can renew your mind in Christ.
